TDF Fundraising Chair Joy and David adopted Micki at the sweet age of 7. They drove all the way from LA to Oakland to meet him. He was the perfect mellow boy for them, and after just a few days he really opened up showing his goofy and loving personality. All of their lives are now filled with such joy and the two of them couldn’t imagine living without their handsome boy!
Misty
Frederick fostered failed Misty 4 years ago. She helped him transition from adolescence to adulthood by forcing him to become more responsible. She guided him through his twenties, now onto his thirties!

Buddy, Jooni, and Zumi

“Buddy (white dog on the right) is a long term TDF volunteer. After being rescued from the shelter his owner found TDF as a source for information and support regarding Jindos. When it came time to adopt a second dog, Jooni (white dog on the left) was fostered by Buddy for about three weeks before it was clear that she loved him!
Together, Buddy and Jooni have fostered several Jindos for TDF helping these dogs learn that two meals a day and comfy couches are a good thing.
Here they are pictured with Zumi, (who was their foster until they adopted him themselves), the red.
Zumi is learning his leash manners and learning to trust people.”
Pearl
From adopter, Joyce, in 2018: “Here’s Pearl. We’ve had her for 4 years now and have seen her go from being very skinny and super skittish to well-mannered and affectionate…and she’s put on some weight too.”
Hachi
From TDF supporter, Krystal: “We were so lucky to find Hachi. After learning about Jindos I knew I had to have one. He came to us very scared of the outside world, especially when walking him at night he was terrified of cars zooming by and one time I had to carry him past some children playing with a bat and a ball. Now he no longer fears skateboards or bicycles, and last weekend was great with my friend’s 4 and 9 year old hugging and letting him. He also has whipped me into shape, as every morning before work we run through the hills of our neighborhood. Hachi also knows which streets I let him run at full sprint and is progressing with actually listening to these commands. He’s still a very difficult strong headed Jindo, but the perfect mix of affectionate, independent, and loyal. He’s been in the snow, to the beach, and camping in the woods with us.”
